La Cosa Nostra Scores Early and Holds on 3-0 over Goodfellas in the Semi Finals. Just like the first game today, there were only 19 total hits. Goodfellas batted first and had runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs when Jon Drilling made a nice backhand in the hole to save a run. La Cosa's Shawn Spielberger singled to start the bottom, Jon Drillings walked and the next batter hits a ball that could have been a double play but the ball gets by the first baseman and Shawn scored. Dave Schachman(2-2) singled and Chris Mazur (2-2) singled in the 2nd run. Ralph Avallone hit a sac fly and that was all the scoring for the game. La Cosa is up 3-0 in the first and doesn't score another run all game. Goodfellas had runners in scoring position in the 4th and 5th. In the 6th and 7th they had bases loaded but couldn't get one run home and loose a heartbreaker 3-0. Goodfellas outhit La Cosa 12-7 but those LOBs really killed them. Brad Hartung, Dave Reiss, Neil Ascione were all 2-3. La Cosa Nostra advances to the finals which is now changed to a double header Sunday starting at 2:30.
