Irishman Live Lucky With a 3-1 Win Over La Kosher Nostra in the Semi Finals. There wasn't much offense in either game today, 19 hits total. The Irishman got on the board in the 1st inning after Ralph Fariello(3-3) singled, Aric Bernstein(2-2) singled and Ralph scored on a single by Don Trifari. Steve Deblasio hit the first of his two sac flies and the Irishman are up 2-0. Greg Auerbach(2-3) doubled to start the 2nd and moved to third on a fielder's choice, but he didn't score. The Irishman finally turn their lineup over in the 4th when Aric Bernstein led off with a bloop double behind 2nd. Advance to third on a fly to right and scored on another Steve Deblasio sac fly. Irish are up 3-0. La Kosher makes their biggest threat in the 6th after Evan Orris led off with a double that caused a 5 minute delay on the call at second (see twitter). Then with two outs Jay Glickson, who survived a hard collision with Steve Deblasio in his last at bat, singled between 3rd and short to score Evan. Malachi Metz(2-3) singled right over third base but the last out was made with Max Metz in the on deck circle and already intentionally walked once. In the 7th with one out LKN gets a break when an infield fly is dropped. Greg Auerbach singled to put the tying run on first with one out but Aric Bernstein made another spectacular catch coming in on a ball for the 2nd out. The next batter grounds out to second and the Irishman advanced to the finals, which is now changed to a double header on Sunday.
