Mud Hens Keep on Clucking, 22-18 over the Space Cowboys. Jim Morris had his Hens laying today but the Space Cowboys did make them sweat in the final inning. The Hens love to get up early and picked up 5 in the 1st inning. Chaig Engelhardt and Greg Esperson both single before Aric Bernstein(5-5), Nick Adams(2-3) and Keith Blicht all double. Jim Morris who pitched and went 4-5 singled, Jerry Fagetti(3-4) and Heith Waldorf single and the Hens are up 5-0. Space Cowboys got one back when Jason Davis(5-6) singled and scored on a sac fly by Alec Vigil. Greg Espersen led off the 4th with an inside the park homer and the Hen built a 11-6 lead after 4. They Picked up 11 runs in the 6th off 11 straight hits to take a 22-7 lead. But the Space Cowboys showed some life and rallied for 5 in the 6th and 6 in the 7th and had the tying run on deck before the Hens finally get the last out. Ira Robbins was 4-4, Andy Boyer and Rich Kirkpatrick were both 3-4 for the Cowboys in the loss. Both teams had 25 hits but the Hens are perched at the top of the standings with their 3-0 start.
