The Amazin... Pigs? Lehigh Valley Knocks Off The Top Seeded Mets 11-5 in Wolford Cup Upset. The Pigs come out of the pen swinging with a big 4 run 1st. John Boeckel got it started with a single, Brad Hartung(3-4) singled and Jon Weiner(3-4) makes it 3 in a row as John Boeckel comes around to score. With one out an error allows Brad to score and Marty Eagan hits a sac fly. Cuchk Puleo singled to right and Lance Zacker singled home the 4th run, boy those errors can really hurt you. Pigs are up 4-0. Mets get one back after Pete DeFranks infield single, gets to 2nd on a fly ball and scored on a Rick Beyer(2-3) single. Pigs are up 4-1 after 1.Jason Benson singled to start the 2nd and with one out Jim Halpin walked. Brad Hartung singled and the Pigs are up 5-1 after 2. Pigs are cooking in the 3rd after Jared Bruno and Brian Godau both single. Marty Eagan singled scoring Jared and Lance Zacker gets an RBI on a Fielder's Choice. Pigs 7-1 after 3. Pigs turn up the heat in the 4th afer Mike Heisheimer singled, John Boeckel picks up his 2nd single and Brad Hartung comes through again with an RBI single. Jon Weiner singles to right and two more Pigs score. The Pigs are running wild, up 10-1 in the 4th. The Mets managed 3 runs in the 6th to cut the lead to 11-5 and that's how it ended. The Pigs are in the semi finals and finishing the season how they started.
