The Bacon Can't Find the Plate and the Mets Walk away with a 13-2 Win. Macon Bacon's starting pitcher was late and the first 6 Mets batters walked. Rob Thomas(3-3), the Mets hottest batter was back in the lineup and singled to score the 5th run, Gary Drillings hit a sac fly and Matt Siekierka(2-3) and Nick Catanese both singled in runs and the Mets are up 7-0 after 1. They add 2 in the 3rd on 4 straight hits by Rick Beyer, Rob Thomas, Gary Drillings, and Matt Siekierka. Dave Plishka walked and scored in the 4th on father Bob's single. Macon Bacon got the grill going in the 4th after Ralph Aiello singled, Jon Cocchio singled and Brian Guatta singled in Ralph. The 2nd strip of bacon came off a fielder's choice but that was all for the game. St. Lucie put the game away in the 6th when Dave Plishka doubled and Derek Margiotta ripped a 2 run homer, that's gotta feel good! The Mets bounce back after Saturday's loss and improve their record to 3-1.
