Rail Riders Leave the Hens in the Mud as Hens get Nixed 7-4 Finish. Casey Nix had a big game for the Rail Riders going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a game saving stop at first in the 6th inning. The Rail Riders got things started in the 1st after Jay Glickson dropped in a single and after and error and Bob Vogt hit a sac fly. In the 2nd Ron Liebowitz(2-3) got things started with a single, Mark Fedele(2-3), who played a nice right center, singled, Michael Lawlor singled in a run, Jim Watkins singled and Casey Nix(3-3) took control of the engine with a deep single scoring 2 more. Dean Sottile singled and Rail Riders are up 5-0. The Hens get one when Jim Morris singled and Pat McNamara skipped one past the left fielder for a double. After 2 innings, the Riders are up 5-1. They add another in the 3rd after Victor Cardona(2-3) singled, Ron Liebowitz singled and Mark Fedele singled to score Vic. In the bottom of the 4th with the new ball the Hens get going. Craig Engelhardt and Greg Espersen single, Aric Bernstein walks to load the bases. Bruce Dostal singled in two, Jeff Brooks singled in a 3rd run and after 4 Rail Riders are holding a 6-4 lead. The rain is picking up and we only see one more run. Rail Riders Michael Lawlor(2-3) singled and scored when Casey Nix doubled to center. Things get interesting in the bottom of the 6th with two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Casey Nix stops a ball at first, picks is up and beats Bruce to the bag. Rail Riders hold one to win their 2nd straight game with a 7-4 upset over the 1st place Mud Hens.
