Cowboys are Back in the Saddle with 18-15 First Win. The Rail Riders 4 game winning streak comes to an end after spotting the Space Cowboys 10 first inning runs off 7 walks to the first 9 batters. The Rail Riders starting pitcher was out for this game and a new pitcher was making his LVC pitching debut. After the 2nd time throught the lineups the Cowboys started swinging and Jason Davis(4-5) got the games first single, Alex Simon(3-4) singled and Mark Spoto (3-4) doubled, followed by singles from Alix Vigil(3-4) and Rick DelGizzi(3-4) for a total of 10 runs. But the Rail Riders didn't give up and battled back from a 16-3 defecit to bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 7th. A diving grab by Jason Davis secured the win. It was the middle of the Rails lineup that did most of the damage with Jared Kuropatkin back from appendix surgery going 3-4, Casey Nix 3-4 with 3 RBI's and Joel Orris 3-4 with 4 RBI's. The Rail Riders out hit the Cowboys 22-20. With their starting pitcher awall, Joel Orris was asked to fill in at pitcher tonight and after that rough first inning Joel settled in and even struck out 3 batters on the night, which could be an LVC record, not sure. For the Cowboys Alex Simone, Mark Spoto and Alec Vigil all had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. The Cowboys finally get their first win and are now 1-5 and looking to make it 2 in a row Sunday night against the struggling Yard Goats.
