Macon Bacon Spirs the Cowboys in the Bottom of the 6th to Break a 7-7 tie. In a back and forth battle the Cowboys could not lasso in their 2nd win, dropping a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 6th. The game got off to a slow start with the Cowboys drawing first blood in the 3rd inning. With 2 outs and none on, Rick DelGizzi singled followed by 4 straight singles. One by rookie sensation Alex Simon(3-4). Then Mark Spoto singled to load the bases for Alec Vigil who singled in two runs. The Space Cowboys are up 2-0. Bacon comes right back with 4 greasy runs. Mike Fardo singled and Mike Levine singled to bring up the top of the order with 2 on and one out. Ralph Aiello singled in one and with two out Ken O'Brien burns the Cowboys with a 3 run HR to center, watch out for that hot Bacon. Macon is up 4-2. In the 5th the Cowboys miss on a big inning. Jason Dickert leads off with a walk and Rick DelGizzi(3-4) singles. Alex Simon loads the bases with a single and lone ranger Mark Spoto hits a deep sac fly. The 4th batter hits a fielder's choice and rookie Zach Boyer singles to tie the game at 4-4. Macon comes right back with 3 more after Rich and Mike Fardo both single and with two outs, again Macon gets a big hit, this time a double by Ralph Aiello. Danny Fariello follows with a 2 RBI single to put Macon up 7-4. The Cowboys match those 3 after Andy Boyer, Brian Quinn and Jason Dickert all single, bringing up the top of the order again with only 1 out. Rick DelGizzi singled in one, Alex Simon another and Mark Spoto hit a third single to score the tying run 7-7. Unfortunately for the Cowboys the meat of the order can drive in any more runs and leaves the pan open for the Bacon. If the Cowboys want to win they have to capitalize on these opportunities. Macon pitcher Mark Armelino leads off the bottom of the 6th with a single and Matt Eisenberger singled. Frank Chioccariello knocked in the go ahead run on a fielder's choice and Rich Fardo singled in the second run to give Macon another lead 9-7. Cowboys can't score in the 7th and Macon holds on to get the win, 9-7. If anyone can email me game pictures that would be great while the webcam is down.
