St. Lucie Mets Put Up 14 Run 5th with ZZ-Top, to Take Down the Goats 18-4. This game was very close till the 5th with the Mets holding a slim 4-3 lead. Pete DeFrank(2-2) got things started in the first with a single and Rick Beyer(4-4), who's got his grove back, tripled him in. Bob Plishka singled home Rick and it's 2-0 Mets. Goats tie it in the 2nd when Dave Schachman(3-4) singled, Christian Hansen singled, and Ralph Avallone doubled in 1. Steven Sroka hit a sac fly and we are tied 2-2 after 2. The Mets top comes around again and this time Dave Plishka triples to right, Pete DeFrank walks and Rick Beyer singled to put the Mets up 1. Rob Thomas hits a sac fly and it's 4-2 Mets. Goats get one back in the 4th when Ralph Avallone singled and scored on an Eric Buzzelli sac fly. In the 5th the Mets have ZZTop (2 Zabranskys then the top of the order). Kevin Zabransky leads off with an on by error, Kevin Z Jr rips a single to left and the top of the order Dave Plishka singled scoring one. Pete DeFrank singled down the line and Rick Beyer singed in the 3rd run. Bob Plishka lofts a fly to center that is dropped for the 2nd error of the inning. Rob Thomas singled before Matt Siekierka double in 3 runs. So the Goats bring in Tony Garrett to pitch and his first batter Nick Catanese reaches on the 3rd error and the flood gates opened. When the inning was over it was 18-3 Mets and this one was over.
