Goats Get Roasted by the Mets and the MetZ in One Night. In the second game of the Yard Goat double header this time it was the MetZ that sent the Goats to pasture with a 20-5 mercy. Mal and Max Metz combined for 7-9 with 7 RBIs and one homer each including Malachi's walk off, 15 run mercy rule homer in the bottom of the 6th inning. (see twitter). Greg Auerbach led off for the Pirates and was 5-5 and Dave Richmond and Jake Berliner were both 3-4. The Goats did throw out 3 Pirates trying to take extra bases tonight so this could have been even worse. The Goats only combined for 9 hits with Lee Ehudin, Ralph Avallone and Dave Schachman each going 2-3. Several Goats only batted twice in the game. With the win the Pirates move up to 3rd place and their 10th win pretty much guarantees them a playoff spot. At 7-9 the Goats are still in the thick of things but need a better turnout if they want to get into the playoffs.
