Mets Roast the Pigs and Goats in one night. Pigs go down 22-16. Somehow the Pigs stayed in this game all the way till the end. The Mets were scoring at will puting up 14 runs in the first 3 innings to take a 14-4 lead. But the Pigs got back in it in the 5th with 8 runs and had Frank McNally on deck when the last out was made trying to score on an overthrow. That could have been interesting. So the Pigs cut the lead to just 2 14-12. But the Mets plate 4 more in the bottom of the 5th and the Pigs just could not keep up. Dave Plishka and Pete DeFrank were both 4-4 with Pete collecting 4 RBIs. Rick Beyer was 3-3 with 2 walks and Bob Plishka was 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Rob Thomas was 3-5 with 4 RBI in the slug fest.For the Pigs Jason Benson was 5-5 with 3 RBIs and Frank McNally, Brad Hartung and Mike Heisheimer all had 3 hits in the loss. With the loss the Pigs move all the way down to 10th place and need to win 3 of their last 4 to have a shot for the post season. The Mets have now reached 12 wins and stay on top in the standings with only 4 games left.
