Savanna Goes Bananas in the 7th Inning with 9 Runs Capped a John Deluca's Bases Loaded, 2 Out Triple, to Spoil the Bacon Upset. In a back and forth game Savanna comes back from down 2 in the 7th. Macon, missing Jon Cocchio, struck first in the 1st with 2 outs when Danny Fariello singled, Steve Deblasio(2-3) singled and after an error, Mark Armelion singled in 2 runs. Macon shut the Bananas down the first time through the order but in the 3rd John Deluca worked a one out walk. Ryan Coletti singled and with 2 outs John Sanzone launched a double to tie the score. Next batter Levi Henninger crushed a 2 run homer and Savanna has the lead 4-2. Macon scored 1 in the 4th after Brain Guatta(3-4) lifts a double and scored on a single by Mark Armelino who has all of Macon's RBI so far. after 4 Savanna is up 4-3. Bananas get 3 in the 5th when, again with 2 outs, John Sanzone singled. Levi Henninger singled and Jason Wertheimer singled in one. A costly outlfield error allows 2 more runs to score, Bananas are up 7-3. Macon strikes back in the 5th after Seth Friedman leads off with a triple. Mike Levine reached on an error and Seth scored. With one out Danny Fariello singled and Jason Crimmins followed with a triple to right center. Macon is down by 1. Steve Deblasio worked a walk and Brian Guatta crushes a deep homer over the pickle ball courts. Macon is back on top 9-7. No scores in the 6th. The Bananas get some breaks in top of 7th. Ryan Coletti works a lead off walk. Clay Petry singled to left and John Sanzone flys to right but for some reason the right fielder trys to throw out the runner going to 3rd allowing the tying run to move to second. With one out Macon elects to walk Levi and put the go ahead run on base, it didn't work out for them. With the bases loaded Jason Wertheimer(3-4) singled to tie the score. Then Kyle "9 lives" Francis should have been out 3 times (watch twitter video lol). His grounder to short hit off the shortstops glove (1), Kyle tried to take second when the throw went to 3rd and looked like he could have been out on the tag(2). Then the next batter lined to short and he was caught off second but the throw hit him on the back(3). He was given a single and the run snuck home on the throw to 2nd and the Bananas take a 1 run lead. After the next batter lined out to short, which should have been an inning ending double play, Aidan Mach just sneaks a single up the middle scoring another and father Jon somehow gets an infield single off the pitchers foot. Brandon Snook gets on by a fielder's choice and then comes the big blow. John Deluca rips a liner to left down the line that's over the left fielder's head and 3 runs score. Ryan Coletti also beat the left fielder and scored John with a double. Savanna plated 9 in the inning and goes on to win 16-10. Was the the back of Jason's shirt we saw chasing those balls in left?
